For some\, the truth of this becomes evident through the art of sound. The sound of Whitney Jones\, an indie\, contemporary R&B and soul artist\, has taken flight\, and she is ready to take everyone along for the journey. Her sound interweaves nuances from her jazz and classical studies\, gospel roots\, and a love of oldies and folk music. Having been classically trained on the piano since the age of 5\, Jones knew early that music was her passion.  \nAfter high school\, Jones graduated from Berklee College of Music which honed her craft even more. Exploring various styles of music served her well during a few live performances as a background vocalist for world-renowned dance music queen CeCe Peniston. Jones also recently co-wrote “Purple Funk\,” a song by Mothers Favorite Child\, on which Peniston is featured\, and was rewarded with a #2 Billboard Hot Singles Chart position. Now\, Jones’s debut record\, Higher\, displays original songs that bring forth real instrumentation with a pure intention. Her sound is hip and classy\, cathartic and full of positive energy. She is a whole vibe by herself. Listen and expect to be uplifted\, inspired\, and motivated!  \n\nGuests are invited to bring a blanket to sit on the lawn or low-sitting lawn chairs to enjoy great food\, friends\, and free live performances. Delicious food from the grill\, gourmet desserts\, cocktails\, beer\, wine\, and soft drinks are also available for purchase. Additionally\, patrons can bring their own picnic baskets and pets to the park. \nSchedule is subject to change. Events may be canceled due to inclement weather. \nInterested in being a merchant at Sunday A’Fair? Fill out this application.
