DESCRIPTION:About the Event\nDubbed “masters of soulful folk” by Paste\, The Wood Brothers formed after brothers Chris and Oliver Wood pursued separate musical careers for 15 years. Chris already had legions of devoted fans for his incomparable work as one-third of Medeski Martin & Wood\, while Oliver toured with Tinsley Ellis before releasing a half-dozen albums with his band King Johnson. With drummer Jano Rix added as a permanent third member\, it’s become quite clear that The Wood Brothers is indeed the main act.  \nBlue Note released their debut Ways Not To Lose in 2006 and Loaded in 2008. The band moved to Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Artists for Smoke Ring Halo\, 2011\, with The Muse to follow in 2013. After relocating to Nashville\, The Wood Brothers released Paradise in 2015\, recorded at Dan Auerbach’s (The Black Keys) studio\, Easy Eye Sound. In 2016\, the band returned to Levon Helm’s (The Band) famed Barn in Woodstock\, New York\, and recorded Live At The Barn\, which captured their sold-out performance that night and showcased the kind of singularly eclectic and electrifying performance style that’s earned them devoted legions of fans around the world.   \nOn February 2\, 2018\, The Wood Brothers released their sixth album\, One Drop of Truth. “It’s the freest album we’ve done\, the most independent album we’ve done\, and was the most fun we’ve ever had making a record\,” says Oliver Wood. The end result is undeniably The Wood Brothers’ most dynamic recording to date and was recognized as such when it received a Grammy® nomination for Best Americana Album. \nThe Wood Brothers’ 2020 studio album Kingdom In My Mind is an 11-song collection representing a reckoning of sorts\, examining circumstance\, mortality\, and human nature. The trio draws from across a broad sonic spectrum to create a set of songs that are thoughtful and inward looking and ultimately transportive and effervescent.  \nKatie Pruitt  \nAcclaimed singer\, songwriter\, and musician Katie Pruitt is in the midst of a series of breakout years following her widely acclaimed\, 2020 debut album\, Expectations. Co-produced by Pruitt and her close friend Mike Robinson\, the record finds Pruitt exploring complex emotional ground\, covering topics such as mental illness\, toxic relationships\, and the frustration and difficulties of growing up gay in the Christian South. Released last spring to overwhelming praise\, NPR Music called the album “stunning” and said it “radiates so much empathy and love and understanding\,” while Rolling Stone called Pruitt “a soaring vocalist and agile guitarist … a dynamic new presence.” Pruitt also recently launched a new podcast\, The Recovering Catholic\, where she explores the idea of God and attempts to discover a new spiritual identity.  \nOriginally from the Atlanta suburbs and now based in Nashville\, Pruitt has continued to receive widespread attention since her debut\, having been highlighted as a Rolling Stone “Artist You Need To Know\,” one of NPR Music‘s “Slingshot: 20 Artists To Watch In 2019\,” and Southwest: The Magazine‘s “Artists on the Rise.” She has also been featured on NPR Music‘s Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts series and CBS Mornings\, performing as part of the show’s Saturday Sessions series.
