Films.Dance is Jacob Jonas The Company\u2019s global platform and creative studio for dance. Through non-traditional collaborations across cultures and continents, Films.Dance produces and presents original film works through the intersection of dance, music, choreography, and fashion.<\/p>\n
How it works<\/strong><\/p>\n Jacob Jonas The Company (JJTC) creatively directs and produces the work on Films.Dance, focusing on themes of celebrating the human spirit; strong relationships to nature; artistic mediums responding to each other through process and result; illustrating diversity in age, culture, background, race, ability, and sexuality, and capturing authentic expression.<\/p>\n The series is centered around non-traditional collaborations, where JJTC pairs artists who have never worked together and who often live in opposite corners of the world. For example, a Montreal-based choreographer worked with a dancer in Shanghai and a composer in London. Two self-taught dancers in Nigeria were in a process with a New York City-based choreographer to a score by a Los Angeles musician. A dancer with disabilities in London learned the choreography of an artist in Australia and performed to a score by a Berlin-based orchestra.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thank you to our 2023\u201324 Series
